Why would my professors assign a lab report during BOF season like actually who would do that

Why did I force myself to explain BMS to my computer music professor in my final project proposal...
BMS is so hard to explain, yet I feel obligated to do so every time it comes up...
This hobby will be the death of me...

I think we should reconsider what the "cozy game" genre represents, cause why do I have to worry about fulfilling like 100 arbitrary goals in something like Stardew Valley when I could instead boot up a rhythm game, enjoy some tunes, and progress at whatever pace I want
