You're absolutely right. Having had a few MRIs, I recall the Doc always carefully explained the reason for each. Trump knows the reason for his MRIs. I wonder what he's trying to hide.

It would be interesting to know what type of impact AOC might have on voter turnout in this particular Congressional electon. Maybe exit polling will provide a clue. Personally, I have found her remarks on a range of issues to be measured and thoughtful. I look forward to hearing more from her.

Very good essay. One of my favorite Thanksgivings was in 1962 in Korea. The mess cooks of B-2-40 Armor at our small, remote base near the DMZ did a great job. We tank crewmen, from many backgrounds and far from home, appreciated all the effort that went into preparing that meal.

Thank you for this very important and timely speech. As a U.S. Army veteran who has attended "No Kings" rallies in 2025, I am increasingly concerned about Mr. Trump's actions and what they may portend for the future of our nation. Please continue your important work in the defense of democracy.

Nuremburg.
My dad, a U.S. Army artilleryman helped capture that German city in April 1945.

My wife and I tried to do our bit by threatening to cancel our Disney streaming service. Will probably cancel anyway now that we've finally watched all the Donald Duck cartoons currently available in the service's library. Glad to hear Kimmel will return.

Mr. Trump needs to understand that if he wants to get our attention, he won't get it with childish posts like this. Instead, many of us want Trump to come clean about his friendship with his pal, Jeffrey Epstein. Just what was going on there, Mr.Trump?

Obama pit stop for "shave ice" in Hawaii.

It's Trump. Therefore, in the future it's entirely possible he could once again pivot in an attempt to curry favor with Putin.

Sounds rather unappetizing.

The RIFing (firing) of these State Department employees is going to significantly reduce the expertise the U.S. needs to conduct an effective foreign policy. What in the hell is Marco Rubio trying to do?

I figured this would happen. Now, watch the compliant Rs in the House pass it as is so that Trump can sign it into law on 7/4. God help us!
The Ds better not fumble the ball again by failing to make this a major campaign issue in the 2026 mid terms.

Same here, my first bout of COViD-19. Fully vaccinated, but I did not wear a mask on two recent legs of a long flight back from Hawaii. An unmasked couple in the row behind us coughed constantly on the Kona to Denver segment. My case of the COVID-19 Nimbus variant is a hassle, but seems manageable.

Actually I stole it from the Brazilians, some of whom wryly say, "Brazil is the superpower of the future and it always will be."

Read your excellent book. Thanks for writing it.
I wish more people had read it prior to the 2024 election and had then reflected on the important issues you raised. I hope more people will read and carefully think about it in the run-up to the 2026 and 2028 elections.

My compliments on your excellent comment characterizing the hypocrisy of most supporters of today's Republican Party. Frankly, they resemble 1930s fascists more than they do Republicans I knew growing up as a kid in Kansas in the 1950s.

As a former EM who served in both the Regular Army and the Army National Guard, I thank you for your thoughtful remarks about Mr. Trump's provocative use of troops in LA. To me, his unasked for call-up of Guard troops, and utilization of 2/7 USMC Regiment, sets a very dangerous prcedent.
June 12, 2025 at 1:40 PM
Thanks for your remarks. As a former Army EM I appreciated what you said about parades and your idea of you, as a general officer, instead passing in review to honor the troops under your command. In 1962 in Korea we troops in 2/40 Armor would have applauded your thinking. Much respect for you.

Yet another OOA (Oval Office Ambush). The victim this time, President Ramaphosa of South Africa. ThIs OOA with its props was more elaborately choreographed than the OOA on President Zelensky. We will see more OOA's because Mr. Trump of "The Apprentice" thinks they make for "good television."

I am one of your constituents. Thank you for the remarks you made to Secretary of State Rubio during his testimony yesterday. I think what you said was accurate and timely. Thanks again and please keep fighting for us here in Maryland.
