Today's printing is all about the pets, or at least 2 of the 5! It also highlighted a massive error I made developing my film (Fomapan 200, Rodinal 1+50). The problem was not the dev as such, but rather my impatience waiting for the film to dry. I used a paper towel. I'm an idiot. I have learned.

A new year begins, with the goal to develop my photography and take more time to grow, both myself and my technique. The first darkroom session of the year, exploring the frames captured in one of Cape Towns urban green belts with my wife.

Sometimes the darkroom is more about meditation and learning. It may not be the best composition, or the best subject; but the process to take the negative and process it to the image you visualise in your mind. That's the beauty, that's the focus, that's the joy.
