As with everything multiple things can be true at once
1. The CTA needs considerably more funding. Looking at peer systems this is true
2. The CTA is and has been mismanaged for years. It needs competent leadership to address issues
3. I think its long overdue to raise the fares to help. Say $3-3.25

This is what i don't get. Feel like it's all about Dorval having a legacy by extending the red line but at what cost?
For $6B we could probably rebuild the congress branch or get the other sections of the blue, red and brown back to 10-15%. Which would greatly decrease number of operators needed

💯. Not to mention the cost to purchase them which could be spent elsewhere.
While we're at it, EV'S don't automatically make sense regardless of application. A 6,000 lb F150 lightning is not green and pays no gas tax. If everyone with a pickup bought one the roads would be toast...
