I don't think you understand how much I love dogs.

Social Worker. Wildlife Conservationist. Photographer. Amateur chef. Sometimes funny.
100%. My hope is that if legislation like OH SB 1 are pushed through to the top, the CSWE and ASWB will address it in a way that doesn't render the education of thousands of future social workers irrelevant. I just finished my BSW and am about to start my MSW. Scary time to be in this position. :(

I feel this on a spiritual level. We can do this and we're not alone! <3

I was planning on making the drive up to Ottawa NWR yesterday but decided against it based on conditions folks closer by were telling me about. Glad I did since the refuge closed the drive around midday! Lovely photo!

#Kindness. Simply put, we are trying to be kind people to everyone we encounter in everyday life. Yes, even if they disagree with us. We still strive to be kind. I refuse to believe kindness is not the antidote to hate and I will die on that hill.

5. Utilization of our #library systems. Download the #Libby app to your phone to access local libraries all over! It's incredible and way better than supporting #Amazon or other big box stores!

4b. #SocialWork as a profession is based in #DEI and #culturalcompetency is a core ethical principle in social work practice. #CSWE accredited programs ensure competencies in working with diverse populations through empathy and addressing implicit biases. That is why it is critical to this field!

4a. We write to our state representatives letting them know what issues are important to us as constituents. Example: #OHSB1 could have detrimental consequences on #socialwork students by forcing higher education institutions to remove #DEI curriculum or face loss of federal funding.

3. We donate to our #NationalWildlifeRefuge systems like #OttawaNationalWildlifeRefuge and write to our state representatives on its behalf to help keep our wild spaces protected from government overreach.

2. We now donate monthly to #NPR. #ListenerSupportedRadio and news needs us right now. Our monthly donation is small, but it's something.

1. We switched from #T-Mobile to #Verizon for our cell phones. T-Mobile is utilizing #Starlink satellites. No thank you.

Yessss!!! I grew up in Marion and have some awesome childhood memories at Killdeer Plains, exploring and hiking while my dad fished. I've watched eagles catching fish, seen pheasants, and have a lovely memory of bobwhite quail. Also trauma from my first tick experience. LOL.

Oh yes, I follow them closely! Such a great resource. Even if I did make it up only to find trails closed, I love that there are so many other great spots up there like Howard Marsh and Old Woman's Creek closer to Sandusky!

I live in the Dayton area, so it's not easy to make it up that way. I had hoped to get to the drive the first weekend it was open this year, but the weather had other plans. Fingers crossed for Feb 15th!!! Sidenote: Northern Shrike would be a lifer for me! Congrats on the cool find!

So happy to have this pop into my feed! Magee Marsh and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge as a couple of my happiest places on earth!
