You know he is mid evolution when he is searching for answers. This has happened on 3 of the most pivotal moments in his life — his meeting with Reo, his first match vs. Isagi, and his NEL downfall.

When he lost to PXG, the first thing he does is also to ask Rin about what drives him to become stronger and also what happens after he achieves his goal.

When he lost to Barou during the Manshine vs. Ubers match the first thing he did was ask him what drives him to play football so intensely and what happens after he achieves his goal.

During his match with Team Z, all he had in mind were questions like what drives people to continue trying their best.

When Reo was recruiting him, he had a lot of questions in his mind like what motivates people.

He was also mostly left alone so he had no communication skills. The way he grows is through curiosity and inquiry.

People think he’s rude sometimes with the questions he ask because they think he’s looking down on them like Isagi during the 1st selection match but he’s really just genuinely curious. We have to remember that this guy literally had to motivations previously.
