Net profit margins in many industries are very low, 4 to 10 percent. There is nowhere for the wage increase to come from. Other factors are at work.

My partner mentored one young mother who was determined to get out of the multigenerational cycle of poverty, welfare, and abuse. She lived in a subsidized apartment and worked incredibly hard to juggle employment and childcare. Every time she got a raise her rent went up. It's a frustrating trap.

It would be useful to dig into the data, as Pew Research indicates atheism is dropping whereas Islam is rapidly growing.

I vote the Barkan Industrial Zone in the West Bank as one of these too. Heavily polluting industries under Israeli control are intentionally concentrated in this zone because 1) "Free" land (confiscated), 2) cheap Palestinian labor and 3) lack of environmental regulations compared to Israel.

EVERYONE knows you are gambling with a hefty ticket by taking your work van on the GW Parkway or B-W Parkway. The migra BS is new, but the restriction is not. Every tradesman around here knows.

Probably a short-lived blip. Architectural billings index (advance indicator of construction activity) has been steadily down since Nov 2024. There was a tiny blip positive in Oct 2024 and the index leads construction by about a year, so any positive construction blip isn't likely to last.
