My job is slowly killing my mental and physical health but I can’t afford to quit because I have nothing to fall back on or a safety net per se. It would be really helpful if you could support my art as my art is really all I can do with my disabilities and I’d like to turn it into a career.

(6/6) Anyways, ramble over. Again, no hate to any artists, just an observation I’ve made recently 🫶

(5/6) so in todays society, much like beauty standards, it’s conform or don’t get the validation and recognition you deserve and want, which really sucks.

(4/6) The standard to have aesthetically pleasing art is set by the viewers, not the artists, yet they don’t know a thing about art. They are limiting the creativity of so many people because so many artists crave the validation that likes and views bring (myself included)

(3/6) Now. The people that do this ARE NOT artists, they’re the consumers. Artists from what I’ve seen are very supportive of any style that isn’t the standard, at least most are. And the biggest problem with the standards is that it wasn’t set by the artists but by the consumers.

(2/6) And would love a webtoon just because if it’s beautiful art even though it may have a bland story (no hate there tho)

(1/6) So the problem is how many people say “art standards don’t exist!” And then they follow 5 accounts with very similar aesthetically pleasing styles, love when someone copies a mangaka’s art style rather than find their own, would much rather support AI art cause it’s “prettier”
