Regardless of the stage of mass terminations, this language gets used. Under normal circumstances, employees are first asked voluntarily to seperate, typically with a buyout offer (they are not at that point), then a RIF takes place if there were not enough volunteers.

The law seems to say that a name change must be initiated by a request, and the Interior Sec. MAY act if the Bd. of Geographic Names does not act within a reasonable time. The Denali renaming happened when the Bd. didn't act on a request for 40 years.

Was there a later request to revert?

Since you keep changing your argument, I am done. Bottom line: Your original post is a lie, and you continue to lie by not removing it.
January 25, 2025 at 7:53 PM
You state my claims cannot be verified. That is rich coming from a person who starts this thread with a verified lie. It can be verified that neo-NAZIs have never enjoyed more than 6 percent of the vote in Ukraine since its independence and now has one far right member. Russia out of Ukraine, NOW!
January 25, 2025 at 7:51 PM
The unit is popular in Ukraine, because they are effective fighters against the invading Russian military. Putin could end this today.
January 25, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Shifting the goals. Do you have evidence of the squad appauding the AZOV battalion? You are right that the AZOV at one time had a sizeable (15-20 percent neo-NAZI element; my read is they have been purged. Neo-NAZI politicians have near zero influence in Ukrainian politics.
January 25, 2025 at 7:37 PM
So, you choose to lie. Got it. (Note my earlier comment that I do not ascribe NAZI sympathies over the arm gesture; we have Musks support of neo-NAZIs that are better evidence.)
January 25, 2025 at 6:08 PM
Dude, you passed on a lie in that post. Only you can delete it.
January 25, 2025 at 3:37 AM
Thanks for playing, but no. (BTW, I am among those who do not ascribe any specific meaning to what Musk did with his arm, but it is fair to say Musk likes neo-NAZI politicians).

See the article debunking your claim these Democrats are NAZI sympathizers.

Fact Check: Did Barack Obama, Kamala Harris make "Nazi" salutes?
Elon Musk, who has been accused of performing the salute at an inauguration event this week, shared social media post that questioned why other public figures hadn't been scrutinized.

My goalposts never moved. I gave the backup you requested. You continue to misconstrue what I wrote. You are right we will get nowhere. You would have had to dealt in good faith for that.
January 24, 2025 at 3:27 AM
Were we talking about recent college graduates, it would be hard for someone who attended Prarie View A&M, a HBCU, to have as impressive a resume on paper as someone who went to
Harvard.

Did you read the second full paragraph of the article? Perhaps more eloquently stated, but that's my point.

I understand the distinction you seek to make, and very much your respectful approach. I believe DEI goes beyond just the candidate pool. It is a start. I believe sometimes managers should hire in order to address organizational weaknesses. Hiring qualified applicants with diverse backgrounds helps.
January 24, 2025 at 1:38 AM
No argument on the nobody is forced to hire unqualified people. My argument kicks in once you have multiple qualified applicants.
January 24, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Show me where I said companies were forced to hire the unqualified? As for additional sources backing up my view, beyond my own experience, here you go. I look forward to your sources.

Those three screens kind of explain my take.
January 24, 2025 at 1:20 AM
I believe companies saw they were missing out on talent and additional perspectives because they limited hiring to people with what were traditionally considered the best credentials, favoring elite schools and prestigious appointments that were often unavailable to women, minorities, and disabled.
January 24, 2025 at 1:20 AM
I am pretty sure most entities with DEI programs do not do so with the goal of correcting past wrongs. (Many folks are here because they found how fleeting and insincere Meta and X were in battling misinformation and hate speech.)
January 24, 2025 at 1:14 AM
I have to admit this limited charchter format makes it difficult to explain difficult concepts. As I see it, the main function of DEI programs is to bring on board people who would otherwise not have been hired because of systemic racism.

My use of that term in quotes was meant to describe a person who some people believe should not have been hired because someone else technically looks better on paper. Once candidates have demonstrated competence, that is all that is required.

This platform makes explaining complex issues difficult
