I got to see a lovely kookaburra on my way to work this morning.
Last night I stopped to help an owl that was sitting in the middle of the road.
I parked so that traffic would not be able to hit the poor bird (not causing any danger, hazard lights on, a quiet suburban street, with very little night time traffic, & plenty wide enough for cars to drive around)
