I honestly don't know of any relatives on my paternal side who served, Most of them were holding down homesteads while the men served, which is service in itself - but I do know my maternal grandmother drove ambulances during WWII in England.

Poor thing, dumped by owners, scared out her wits and labeled 'aggressive' by the shelter. A serious candidate for euthanasia. We knew better. You were ready to give her the love and stability she needed. Your kitty whispering skills are epic!

My mom lied to hospital staff to get a ligation after I (her 6th) was born. When my dad found out he was super pissed about it, but oh well. Mom knew what she needed to do. This was 1971.
