Chosen for its relatively low cost, fewer regulations compared to the "west", and its proximity to major financial centers like Singapore, Forest city is unexpectly brought back to "life" with the influx of tech and cyrpto "bros". It remains to be seen if this development will substain iteself.

as they transition from the old fashion, polluting coal/gasoline heating system to modernized, efficient geotheramal-gas one. Xiong‘An seem to serves as the "test case" for future developments or upgrades of existing cities in Northern China.

This project shares some similarities in Xiongan, as one of its aims is to create a thriving city in Northern China to move the economic center of gravity northwards, to diverge resources and not let them all fit into Southern areas, such as Jiangzhehu(江浙沪, the traditional commerce zone).

While such places already exist nearby (like Singapore), Sri Lanka seems to be aiming for the "regional budget-friendly alternative" location that targets South Asian countries like Bangladesh and India. This is clearly a move aimed at attracting foreign investment following the economic crisis.

However, a local government anonymous source said that lack of funding, delayed contractor payments, and bureaucratic hurdles had delayed or compromised the execution of many first-phase projects. As the country's project continued to be stranded by debt, the future of the NAC remains uncertain.

While it may be a business decision to set up here, the fact that Eko Atlantic's land prices are about forty percent higher than those in the immediate neighbourhood suggests it matches the nature of Veblen goods: here, demand increases as price increases, defying the standard law of demand.

Will Nigerians solve the long-plagued natural disasters with modern technology and innovation? Only time and patience will tell.

The state government has announced the Lagos International Climate Change Summit 2025, where they will seek solutions and turn these problems into opportunities for change and innovation. One of the proposed solutions is a "great wall" of Lagos, made from local materials to ensure sustainability.

Eko Atlantic appears to be an example of the critical question that arises when it comes to new, modern city projects: "Who is this city for?" Would the elites reap all the economic growth and benefits of investment while others are living in slums? This remains to be seen.
