I play French Horn.
I have the same issue with guitar and have Ehlers-Danlos which kinda makes my fingers hurt.
Bass is definitely easier - but also stretchier. I’m envying big handed people for the first time. 😂

Right!? It uses enough brain that I can’t stew about other things.

What is the price where you felt “hey I finally did it!?” When you got it down?

Tips? Find someone who knows what they are doing!!! I learned a bunch on YT but then took a few lessons to have someone look at what I was doing and give me technique advice. That was important to do early so you don’t learn bad habits.

I love all advice and yes, I’m working on the squeeze.
And the wrist position.
And trying to figure out how to get two hand to do two different things at the same time.
And reading bass clef (because I really want to - I’ve got tab down).
And finger strength is taking a long time.
