I think the biggest issue with the trilogy is just that it was so wildly inconsistent. They couldn't seem to decide where they wanted to go with it, so it just felt disjointed. TLJ was awesome, but it was all downhill from there.

The pendulum swinging endlessly between “oh god I can’t write why did I ever think I could string a sentence together” and “I CAN AND WILL CHALLENGE THE GODS FOR TITLE OF BEST WRITER IN THE UNIVERSE” is very fun
