Now: Climate Advocate and Dad.
Then: Australian Ambassador, Threatened Species Commissioner.
Got waylaid yesterday on Bundjalung Country by heavy rain.

But am back on the road and am aiming to hit BrisVegas tonight.

A day earlier than planned.

Can’t wait to speak and engage at #AlterCOP30 Australia on Monday.

Revisited the Big Banana today.

Nostalgia = huge

Banana = less huge

Our obligation to protect Country = enormous 🍌

Giinagay Way cycle track from Macksville to Nambucca.

The old Pacific Highway has been renamed in Gumbaynggirr language.

It means “Hello”.

More than halfway now on my #eBike4Australia ride from Canberra to Brisbane for AlterCOP 30 Australia.

Smashed out 800km since Sunday and have another 600km to go.

Cycling to #AlterCOP Australia through Birpai Country today along the coast in Crowdy Bay National Park NSW.

I’ve already smashed out 150km from Newcastle to Forster today and have another 40km to get to Taree where I’m sleeping tonight.

Sore knees. But worth it with scenery like this for 50km through Myall Lakes National Park.

Sunrise over the Port of Newcastle, the world’s biggest coal export hub.

Awkward Australia!

We can’t keep killing ourselves that getting domestic emissions down while continuing to export massive amounts of coal and gas will create a safe future for our kids and Country.

Compassionate, honest, and accountable independent pollies like @allegraspender.bsky.social give me faith that Australia can not only meet the climate crisis challenge, but also become a better place in doing so.

I dropped in to thank Allegra today for all she does for our kids and Country.

Cruise ships are one of the worst things on the planet for climate and our environment.

A single ship like this can emit more toxic air pollution in a year than all the cars in Europe combined. That’s not leisure, that’s poisoning the planet. 👇🏽

First stop today in Sydney.

With my brother Lee at the Aboriginal flag in Newtown. I stayed with him last night just around the corner.

Catch me at the Manly Ferry terminal at Circular Quay at midday if you’re around.

NSW Southern Highlands today.

I’ve cycled through thousands of hectares of canola, wheat, cattle and sheep. Not the wall-to-wall wind and solar that Barnaby Joyce, Angus Taylor and Matt Canavan carry on about.

This is the real regional Australia.

Fantastic to have multicultural participation on the agenda at #CitSciOz25.

With nearly half of Australians either born overseas or having a parent from a non-English-speaking background, making citizen science accessible and inclusive isn’t just fair - it’s smart science.

Up early in Euroa ☀️ - 140 km to for my #CitSciOz25 keynote tomorrow.

Citizen action. Citizen science. Active hope - one pedal stroke at a time. 🚴‍♂️

Pedalling through Victoria on my way to #CitSciOz25.

Followed the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail from Wahgunyah this morning - a perfect reminder that active hope means moving, acting, and choosing to keep going.

Triple shot cappuccino (yes it’s soy!) in Corowa before crossing the mighty Murray river into Victoria.

Following another rail trail to #CitSciOz25 in Melbourne. Love the crisp mornings, Aussie country towns and climate chats.

The Tumbarumba–Rosewood Rail Trail I rode on today is one of Australia’s best examples of rewilding old infrastructure.

So many of these disused lines could become corridors for Nature and we humans alike.

Citizen action. Citizen science. Active hope.

That’s not a question.

Trump & Hegseth talk about using US troops against Americans.

Meanwhile 2,500+ Marines rotate through Darwin, B-52s fly from Tindal, subs dock in Perth & Pine Gap enables US wars.

Australia can’t import fascism.

Words matter. Trump doesn’t lead an “administration” anymore, he rules a “regime”.

When dissent is criminalised and loyalty replaces law, democracy is at risk.

It matters for America. It matters for Australia too. 👇🏽

For almost a quarter of a Century, every Australian federal Resources Minister bar one has gone straight to a fossil-fuel job after Parliament.

Not a glitch. A system.

A revolving door isn’t democracy; it’s dependency. Watch/share.👇🏽

Storm drains in Ghana choke with plastic and become killers in the wet season.

Plastic pollution isn’t just litter, it’s a global public health emergency.

We can’t keep dodging it.

Labor has reapproved foreign-owned toxic salmon farms in Macquarie Harbour, sealing the fate of the endangered Maugean Skate.

Profits to Brazil, Canada & NZ. Extinction in Australia.

I tried to leave these olive branches at the Israeli embassy today to ask it to choose peace not persecution.

The cops politely told me the Israelis would go nuts if they weren’t removed.

So I left a few token branches and gave the rest to the Swedish Embassy across the road.

Anthony Albanese says Australia will recognise Palestine. Good, but while Gaza’s children are bombed and starved, symbolism isn’t enough.

If they were white, would our response be braver? Would we call out their genocide?
