I presumed this was about Roblox, but you're right about MMORPGs more properly... ages are mixed in those types of games and there's often better modification than in roblox.

And all this does is continue to slide people into homelessness. No one's buying UP, they're buying DOWN, pushing out those at the bottom into homelessness. It sucks all around, especially for those on fixed incomes.

How housing affordability isn't the biggest issue on the platform boggles me

Yep, that's most 30 and 40 year-olds I know. Heck, I know two local lawyers who only just now bought a house! Millennials definitely aren't making it, and idk how Gen Z will in this current economy.

We tried to stay where we were, but one place we were at ($1600/mo) sold and the last one ($2470/mo) likes to rotate renters and get deposits, so we had to move. We're lucky that we have as nice a place as we do, but NGL, the rent is absurd and we'd be long gone if I didn't have family law nonsense.

Yeah, no doubt would. That sucks. :(

and exactly re: jobs. No one in Indiana is paying wages high enough to justify the costs, and it's not like there's anything to do here to justify them, either, because it's all AI-driven collusion: jacobin.com/2024/08/real...
With Shared Software, Landlords Are Teaming Up to Raise Rents

And remember you often need 3X the rent just to qualify, plus that much down as a deposit (not including pets), so making $6K/mo at least + able to pay deposits + often now, good credit.

I don't work locally precisely because I wouldn't be able to actually afford the rents around here. Even in Indy, working locally wouldn't pay me enough.

Indiana used to be the affordable state.

My rent is $3K and so my ~$90K income isn't going very far. With 4 kiddos, I don't have many options.

We pay people far, far too little and too many Hoosiers balk at higher wages like it's still 1975

I've said it once and I'll say it again: the only legitimate use of generative AI is to solve the problem of having to hire and pay humans.

Don't forget the good ol, "but we need your donations!"

I do agree... giving people candidates whom they can feel excited to back, who will actually do what they say, and who say they'll do what people want kind of helps with getting people excited to vote.

Look at Mamdani...
