Addicted to words. Used to be paid by the column-inch. (You can probably still tell.) Gleeful flipper of all the tropes. Queer, disabled, neurospicy thespian. Indie author of Chai and Cat-tales. (About to commit a trilogy.) https://lynnstrong.com
Thank you so much! I am also having nerdly raptures about the additive filtration system on the indiestorygeek.com website -- you can pick multiple genres and multiple types of representation and you get an AND result, not an OR result!
(tucks away the MLIS-and-webstuff hat but eeeee)

And they'll print 5x8s on cream up to 700ish pages, so surely I can restrain myself to fewer than 100 pages of recipes, lore, and backmatter... (I say while furtively hiding the paperback of Haroun under a pillow)

There's a novella called Forego Quest attached to the end of the Dragon's Banker that does this in a fantasy setting, starting with strict avoidance of shadowy corners or any barmaids with unusual colors of hair and/or violet eyes :D

So, uh, literally 30 seconds after I found the forum hack to force it to activate, my Win10 computer forgot what electricity was. So I spent 6 hours I didn't have to spare getting set up on an emergency backup Win11. I am seriously wondering how I got cursed.

(The reason I knew to ask this? I'd walked away from my keyboard in grad school and come back to my laptop's screen display being at a 90 degree rotation to the keyboard. I (a) learned to read sideways and (b) needed several days to figure out how to undo it.)
