It's time for the ON Govt to start doing the right thing re homeowners who have not been fairly treated by Tarion.

To start: the Auditor General of ON could audit to find all of those homeowners who have not been treated fairly by Tarion.

Big job, yes. But needed.

As the Ford Gov't focuses on building faster & cutting red tape, ON families are paying the price for Tarion's inadequate maximum.

They are a trusted source for builder protection.

They are a brick wall to keep consumers at bay.
The Ministry (PBSD) gets paid very well annually by Tarion to "oversee" Tarion. In 2024 the amount was $654,000.

Why does the Ministry accept this sort of laughable performance measurement for "being a trusted resource" for this "consumer protection" organization?

Think long and hard on that decision. Cld change your life.

New homes riddled w/bldg code violations can drag you into a years-long fight to get what you paid for. Many can't stand the stress &give up. Some face illness, family breakdown &bankruptcy. The industry knows how this works. You do not.

It's been a busy day following the Tarion Annual Public Meeting last night - here's the general consensus that we have heard.

Homeowner Jenn Moore gets the most votes for impact.

Was anyone from the Ministry there taking notes?

Grifters.
According to AI (Grok) "In 2024, the Prime Minister of Canada earned an annual salary of $406,200.....a base MP salary of $203,100 + an additional $203,100 for the role of Prime Minister."

Two Tarion Execs made more than Canada's Prime Minister in 2024.

Tarion has approx. 350 employees.

Who is lobbying for the consumer?

Answer: no one

This is what the industry is doing. They don’t want municipalities interfering.

It’s the muni’s and prov’s job to protect citizens.

They aren’t doing that job. They are working against citizens at the request of their rich builder buddies.
Some info re industry lobbying.
Who is lobbying for you, the consumer?

Ask Premier Ford, your MPP & the ministers⤵️how you are going to get a home built to code that is safe & healthy under the current environment of industry lobbying.

Thx to the Investigative Journalism Foundation.

Building code violations threaten the occupants' health and safety.

The building permit you pay for as part of the house price charges you for municipal inspections. If they don't inspect, that's fraud. You're stuck.

WHEN will provinces stop allowing this tyranny on new home buyers?
Is this part of the "build faster" movement in Ontario? Or the "cutting red tape" movement?

Why does the Ontario government continue to turn a blind eye to Code violations?

The build faster approach is producing more homes riddled with building code violations.

Code violations are risks to health &safety. Owners need help. CPBH is there.

Can you chip in today to help keep our doors open?

No donation is too small.
