It was a fashion trend of the era and you may need to go sideways as well as back. An aunt perhaps. My ggg grandfather was one of several named Joseph Holloway Boulter & still trying to locate the Holloway. All other middle names have been tracked down but not this one!

Yes! Internet Archive has been the worse but when I change to a VPN it's ok. Now I'm retired I'm not using those big 3 as much so not as affected as others will be. Is it part of the Amazon outage do you think?

I raise you 5 days! Oil to be delivered Friday am. Didn't arrive. Rescheduled for Monday. Didn't arrive but they let us know this time and arranged for today. Didn't arrive today due to crash and road blocked in and out of West Somerset! Another day in paradise. (it is really)

live in a thatched cottage and our life is full of 'funglies' i.e. the ones with really small bodies and very disproportionately long legs! And their babies. I have a weekly task to hoover up all webs and spiders.

It's a long time since I did army and it wasn't my favourite. What's the question? Pm if better for you. I know for some questions it's a case of how would you tackle this, and what would the records show if you had them. Ancestry does have some previously available records behind a paywall now.

Which module are you on? I remember moments like this but persevered, only took 12 years! Can I offer any support or steerage as a former student?

And I uploaded 2 documents this evening which were transcribed in super fast time. Maybe all those images of archived documents will eventually get sorted and abstracts made.. thanks Andrew!

Ours were the best in terms of taste and quality, although a tad tiny. Our courgette was a solitary single item. Usually have a few plants and are overflowing with them. Go for just one plant. Harvest one courgette!

They have a Seasalt shop on Ebay and you can get their stuff at half or better price. May not be this season's range but still. And they are good quality. And have the essential pocket!!

Surely these should be put into an archive collection and not sold for profit. Makes me angry.

definitely because if nothing else they all kept different types of records. Nonconformists tended to keep records of who moved where so if an ancestor left for a different region it's likely to tell you. However, not all record keeping is equal and not all survives!!

It's the only way. With a background in libraries, a love of second hand bookshops (both of us) I don't know when it'll end! There will be a book sale on my demise.

Bookshelf oneupmanship - I have a Billy bookshelf (1m width, full height, 6 shelves) full! Plus overspill. No amount of books is too many books!

no, not just you. I have a bookshelf full! Lots that I bought for IHGS studies too. Can be useful for more than you think - the vol. you show in the image disproved a line for a research project I was doing for a client & saved a whole lot of wrong line searching.

Pleased to hear of someone else who had that. It refused to believe I was human. I thought I'd been scammed!
