*sigh* those couple of days turned into I don't know how long. But, the top is finished 😆 still to baste, quilt and bind. Not giving good odds on a finishing time... #quilt

Yeah, at the other end of the platform where the big grey corrugated box things are. It's A listed so any refurbishment would cost a fortune but I'm all for it

I should be in bed, but here I am being my future friend, prepping some scrappy string piecing. New job starts on Wednesday, straight into 12 hour shifts. Will absolutely need some mindless sewing to do, not sure how functional I'll be by shift three 😆

Not me, hiding in the shed, sewing some pretty patchwork panels all the while thinking... what's the bloody point? Everything is more bonkers than it was a week ago and certifiably crazier than the week before that! 🫠

It's done, I love it 🥰 Sometimes it's good to do some simple piecing and quilting, more of this please! Do you prefer a crinkly quilt or flat and sleek finish? This is line dried so not properly crinkly yet, I can't decide!

Free motion quilting has always defeated me, I've never been able to get the hang of it. I'm honestly so happy that I finally cracked it! With the help of the stitch regulator on my Bernina, can't wait to see where this takes me now 💞

I never got round to finishing the quilting on this mahoosive scrappy Irish chan quilt, so of course a seam popped. Quick repair for now, it's mine and absolutely no one would ever notice it 😆 #skyquilt #quiltsky #ziggazigahhhh

I love this book! I used up a pile of squares I bought years ago at much cheapness and before I knew better. I see more of these in my future, great stash buster and saving textile waste going to landfill 👻

Having a self enforced break from the news, thankful that I have the ability to do so. Filled my day with cutting and sewing, two baby quilt tops done, bags chopped and ready to sew. Dinner and bed I think, after I put my living room back together! #sewsky #quiltsky #creativesky

I tried to embrace the chaos, now I'm sorting all my scrap fabric into colour families 😩 and a gorgeous stack of Harris Tweed, almost ready to chop out some bags 😊

I have a load of Harris tweed and waxed canvas to play with, but which bag first? The firefly totes (both sizes) or the making backpack (also both sizes) I'm working on making samples as I'll be offering limited custom orders in the near future as I ease myself back into business 😊

Today in tools you didn't know you needed, this seam clapper with the sticky up bit (no idea what it's called) has saved my fingers and sanity! Pressing seams open on 1.5 inch squares is not my favourite thing to do 🤣
