I’m proud to have completed my training as a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Network supporter and staff champion.

48 other QUT Library staff have now completed the training to become HDSN supporters. Looking forward to supporting those with non-visible disabilities.

So pleased to share morning tea yesterday with 90 of our higher degree students as they met with their liaison librarians, research support services librarians and connected with their peers. Great to see so many AIRS students there. The customised fortune cookies were a winner!

What is the Research Open Education Resources collection?

It's a collection of open access resources focusing on research concepts, knowledge & skills. It aims to support researchers & HDR students & sits alongside Advanced Information Research Skills (AIRS).

What to do when you get new AIRS badges and your work lanyard is already very full???

Looking forward to sharing these with our new higher degree research students at the next HDR Meet, Greet and Eat.

Really appreciated the 2024 QULOC University Librarians' forum held yesterday. The updates from the practitioner groups and communities of practice were informative and I took multiple insights from the panel discussion about values-base leadership. Thank you to presenters and organisers.

And... we are live. After 12 months of review and redesign, we are launching our new AIRS unit and are looking forward to engaging with our first cohort of students. Feeling thankful for the dedicated team of QUT Library staff who helped to get us here.

One of the enjoyable parts of redesigning a course unit is collaborating with others to create new content. So grateful to our wonderful contributors to the new AIRS videos explaining the different approaches researchers can take in using information effectively for their research. 👏

I’m reading…

Reading the Seasons: Books Holding Life & Friendship Together. By Germaine Leece and Sonya Tsakalakis.

So good. The written conversations between the 2 authors are so authentic and generous. Confirming that bibliotherapy is my dream job.
