I would add that if all your bathrooms have tubs replace one with a shower. There is no way I would have been able to get my mom in and out of a tub. Walk in shower with a bath chair worked wonderfully.

If you ever find yourself in Deep South Texas find a raspa (shaved ice) stand and order a picadilly raspa. Shaved ice, syrup (usually cherry or grape), some pickle juice, topped with diced pickles that are covered with kool aid powder. Add some chamoy and/or spicy Mexican candy for an extra kick.

Yup, and most of those cookies are bad. I can mix up some cookie dough, portion it out and freeze it and can have good, fresh cookies ready in 20 minutes. You can’t do that with cake and I hate wasting food so while I might crave Black Forest or German Chocolate I’ll make what everyone will enjoy.

I can intellectually understand not wanting to believe my actions led to my child’s death but personally the guilt would end me. My kid had a brain abscess from a sinus infection and a tiny hole in her skull. 2 surgeries and IV antibiotics saved her but I still think of what I could have done better
