As a former Burning Man Ranger, I suggest,
Volunteer Stay Rangers, walking in pairs with radios communicating between audience and med staff, wearing a recognizable vest,
Each section has a pair assigned to it. Stay Rangers get a comp ticket for service and go thru an online training.

My ideas:
More Music: keep it fun
Misters for cooling
Mandatory Electrolyte Water
More medical staff
Security and medic on radios
911 equivalent for festivals

.

Lots of calls for medics, and medics finding it difficult to get to people in need.

What ideas do we have to make it better for the future?

Way too many people, not able to move, there wasn’t any music playing, (music provides a healthy distraction from stress), it was dark and stifling. Many of the stays who were quite energetic and optimistic an hour earlier were getting very quiet and withdrawn, just trying to keep stable.

Yes, we were out of the sun, but there was no air circulation, and everyone staying in one spot, no communication by VIP on timing, only 1 bottle of water permitted thru security, water refill lines were long,

I am very proud of how the whole stage and stadium rallied together in a tough situation.

IMO the time spent in the line waiting for sound check was where a lot of heat fatigue happened.

Many stays helped other stays manage the heat, and the stadium staff did their absolute best with limited resources (medics, electrolytes, and ice). It was sad to see so many people hurting, and sad to not sing bye to Straykids at the end, but all the big songs were performed.

I love these 8 artists! I flew from California to DC for the show last night. It was an amazing show! The live band and backup dancers were a HUGE part of the whole experience! Everyone was putting out 200% energy even in the extreme heat.
