I'm not saying the meme stuff in the teaser was great (it's not even a scene from the film!), but the concept is absolutely fine to me.

This looks like someone has used Microsoft paint to slap an Oz frame onto a stock desktop wallpaper

I've learned to never say never with these things, but on balance I think you're right.

I mean, there were plenty of episodes, even during the creative peak of the first season and a half, where Lynch neither directed nor wrote. That being said, he was still one of the creative heads/show runners. His influence since then (FWWM/The Return) goes without saying. I'm conflicted.

My feelings on whether it should happen are nuanced, but my feelings don't really matter. It's Mark's baby too. I'm a huge fan of his work and I'd definitely be excited to see what he can cook up.

Because they had no choice, obviously. You think they just did it for fun?

He's in it for more than just that.

And it's INCREDIBLE! Let's keep adding new flavours of Star Wars. But please spare us the "this is what George Lucas always wanted!" when it's clearly something very different to that. We have his six films, we can see the stark contrast right in front of us.

The most purely Lucasian Star Wars show has to be The Mandalorian. It just is. Look at it. Listen to it. Andor takes one aspect of OG Star Wars (the political backdrop), brings it to the front, and strips away all the fun in order to take it more seriously than ever before.

They're literally hopeful kids films and whizz bang adventure stories played out through mythological archetypes. Equal parts Shakespearean space opera and Saturday morning cartoon. It's Joseph Campbell's Flash Gordon with goofy aliens in rubber masks. These are pros, not cons.

'Everything else is kids playing with action figures! This is cooler than Jedi and force rubbish! Star Wars doesn't deserve Andor' seems to be the trending attitude. Complete nonsense if you actually watch George's six films with your eyes and ears open, of course.

Still one of my absolute favourite Star Wars books! I recommend it to every fan I meet. Can't wait for Master of Evil.
