Years ago I painted a series about the juxtaposition of ancient and modern in Indigenous cultures and cluttered the portraits with the mundane — feathers and stones alongside coffee cups and church calendars. I enjoyed those packages too.

I have three and am building a barn and will be getting the mother of two of them soon. They are our mowers
