To my mind, since trans is an adjective, it’s not necessary. Just as it’s not necessary to call a blonde woman blonde at every instance. So yes, just use man/woman or however the person identifies.

A person is trans when they say they are. But you don’t have to constantly say “trans woman/man”, in fact this could potentially out a trans person who is stealth (not openly trans).

I personally almost never refer to myself as a trans woman, unless it’s necessary, which it almost never is.
