Me currently while watching (or trying to watch?) this video… sadly Ferb’s tongue is also out but in less charming & more “give me salmon oil snacks” attempts at coercion type of ways! 😅
Ferb the dark-eyed white ferret is actively licking his person’s face, nose, mouth & eyes in an attempt to convince her to give him salmon oil snacks, while she looks at Bluesky posts about other ferrets. Her eyes & face are squinched tight in an effort to avoid eyeball and nose licks.

Right in the ear lol… Ferb likes to come groom me after he gets salmon oil snacks & usually that involves licking me on the mouth or my cheek right by my eye.

Their tongues are SO scratchy!! Every time I try to go along but after a bit I feel like I’m getting overly exfoliated! 😅

Dear @bsky.app algorithm, when I post about #ferrets, reply to other people’s images/comments about ferrets, or generally discuss FERRETS I mean actual ferrets. Or even Furret the *ferret* Pokémon.

I do not mean *furries.* Zero hate or shaming to that community, but no thanks. Not the same word!

Depends on which source you ask. Dictionaries will give varying meanings all the way from the entire Western Hemisphere down to the singular country of the USA.

Not everyone will agree on this one & there isn’t clear consensus either on definition or on its use in the English vernacular.

Can anyone on BlueSky direct me on where to look to connect with people who know things about #antique #wallpaper #crafts & how to repair/care for them?

This room divider was made by my great grandmother. IDK the exact year but I would assume late 1800s based on what I know.

Any recs? TYSM! 😊

A zoomed in photo of one of the panels of the antique room divider made it shows that the wallpaper around the edges has cracked where it was glued/adhered to the wooden frame. It appears to have possibly been re-glued or reconnected at some point? This close up shows how some of the overlapping patterns were created by someone hand-painting on adjacent pieces of wallpaper to connect them visually. A close-up of another of the wall panels of the antique room divider made this photo again shows how different patterns of wallpaper were used to create fan patterns, how cracking had occurred around the edges of the panels, and how some spots were hand-painted to add detail and visual cohesion.

More accurately I’m thinking of examples such as the chart I’m attaching below. This chart includes so much data and in ways I would do a disservice to attempt to summarize it myself.

It never fails to amaze how low the standards for entry are to become a PO in the USA.

Skeptical of policing as a system overall, but some increase in min standards would sure help I’d say.

These are the “Basic” & “Preferred” stds for my city’s PD.

Curious what it’s like in cities like this.
Min 19 years of age Excellent character Cdn citizen or perm resident (with a min of 3 years of recent work exp in Canada) Grade 12 diploma or equiv, PLUS a min of 30 credits of academic post-sec education from an accredited uni or college that falls under the BC Council on admissions and transfers. Education outside of Canada must be evaluated by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) Physically fit & in excellent health; able to pass the POPAT (Police Officer’s Physical Abilities Test) and a medical examination Basic first aid cert with CPR Level C and AED for BC Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence with a good driving record No crim convictions, charges under another fed statute, or criminal charges pending Uncorrected vision of not less than 20/40 with both eyes open, with one eye no worse than 20/100 Corrected vision: 20/20 with both eyes open, with one eye no worse than 20/40 Colour vision: colour vision should be normal (ie. the applicant must pass the Ishihara test or Farnsworth D-15 test) Peripheral vision: 150 continuous degrees along the horizontal meridian binocularly, and 30 degrees above & below the fixation point Binocular vision: stereoacuity of 100 seconds of arc or better (i.e. pass the TITUMS or RANDOT Circles test) Candidates who have had successful laser eye surgery will only be considered after 3 months post-operation. Met these lovely folks today at the overpass by Garibaldi Way on the Sea to Sky Hwy in #Squamish w signs calling for a #FreePalestine, to #StopGenocide & to #LetGazaLive.

I “heard” them there before I saw them because so many folks were driving by & giving friendly honks supporting #Palestine! 🇵🇸✌🏼❤️

Moe the red-eared slider turtle in his above tank basking area while it was in the process of being assembled. The enclosure is make with black metal cube shelving components which have approximately 1” wide openings between the metal grates. He is right against the front with his head & two front legs all sticking out of one hole, trying to will his 3x wider & 2x taller body through the opening. Moe is optimistic about what he can fit into. I feel his pain. Moe the red ear slider turtle is standing perfectly still on the hard wood floor of a kitchen. You can see his two front legs slightly sticking out & his head is out a little but his hind legs and tail are curled up and tucked in. Moe is braver about adventures in theory than in practice. I mean, relatable, buddy.

It’s 24C right now and Phineas is already at his max. 🪟s are open, fans are on.

He & his 4 sibs have LOTS of cool places to relax in but do they use them? No! They’re #ferrets!

They 😴 bundled up in a pile in the smallest possible spots & get all extra warm! 😝

So here’s Phineas cooling down. 😜
Phineas the ferret is flopped out on a white, faux sheep skin cat bed. His belly is pooched out slightly and his eyes look tired & gross feeling as he cools down… all because he’s a dork who won’t choose to nap where it’s a comfortable but instead where all his 4 siblings have also shoved themselves into a small spot to cuddle for their midday nap. Because cuddles are more important than comfort when you’re a ferret!!

Clyde would just like you to know that he and his other mustelid family members (weasels, stoats, ermines, etc.) are actually quite cute & just like to play hide & seek with their favourite toys! And that they’re actually much happier in groups than alone - they would never want to separate! 🥹
Clyde the champagne coloured ferret is enjoying some outside time with the human who feeds him. In this photo he’s partly lounging on his human’s lap in the grass, but he’s standing up in his two front legs and sniffing at the fresh air to check this out around him.
