Bluesky will probably be where I have social/political/existential convos.
I'm baffled that during this entire nightmare of a term I haven't seen Labour contribute any meaningful opposition. It should have been so easy?

Which is exactly why his name NEEDS to be broadcast.

Coercive control is so crazy-making that the victim generally will lose their shit at some point and "behave badly". This doesn't make it a generally "toxic" relationship in any sort of balanced way, ffs. How do our courts STILL not know how to spot this shit. Thoughts are with his victimS.

This is truly enraging. When someone is coercive and abusive within a relationship, is it ever really the only time they have done that to someone? An expert once told me that a rapist never only does it once.

Would love to know which "music manager" stood up for this guy keeping name suppression.

Corrupt police working to keep multimillionaire criminals out of the system (rushing them through TPO rather than court) while leaving their victims completely unsupported and uninformed. A bit niche probably... 🙃

🤯 This show reminded me of things I had completely forgotten: 1) Live music is medicine and probably witchcraft 2) Auckland music is a community and there are so many people in it who I love 3) Leaving the house ain't all bad (I already had my suspicions).

I can't wait for Tom's new album.

I learned something amazing this week - that when we go through something traumatising, our brain logs exactly what happened and that we survived. So even if the way we coped was not ideal, our brain logs it as The Way To Survive, and that's how we carry forward "maladaptive" survival behaviours 🤯

Oh I love those one! "Mrs Stanford is traveling to Auckland from Tauranga on Friday evening to stay with her daughter for the weekend" type thing - in the national paper! Cute.

Thanks Tanya! 🥲 I could easily share dozens of photos of this publication, I've only skimmed it but already read some very fascinating and tragic stories. I hope whoever picks it up scours all the goodness.
