Five times in our history, the presidential candidate with the most votes was not elected. Turns out people don’t elect presidents – the Electoral College does. Be part of the movement to abolish the Electoral College and start by enacting the National Popular Vote by 2028.

Why 8.5?
Nonviolent protests engaging 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change. 245 million Americans were eligible to vote in 2024. 3.5% of these eligible voters is 8,575,000 people. If they engage in nonviolent protests, we WILL bring about meaningful change!

The National Popular Vote is a constitutionally conservative, state-based, nonpartisan approach that retains the Electoral College. It goes into effect when states representing 270 electoral votes join via legislation. Then every vote, in every state, will be relevant in every presidential election.

The combination of Winner-Take-All and battleground state campaigning has led to 5 second place Presidents who do not represent the will of the people. We need the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact to make sure this does not happen again. North Carolina should join.
