In 2025, I’m going to be keeping a running tally of games I’m playing to try to make a dent in my gaming backlog, so if you want to follow along, I’ll be keeping it up here and sharing my thoughts as I go, but also, please recommend small indie games for me to play
Note: I played the 3DS version because I didn’t have access to the GameCube version but with that said, this is a charming and short adventure that incentivizes playing it repeatedly to get better endings and I think it’s pretty cool. I don’t know why it took so long to make it a franchise
Game #2 on my 2025 backlog:
Luigi’s Mansion (2001/2018/Gamecube/3DS)
I’ve had some of my time consumed by playing tons of Marvel Rivals so this is late but Luigi’s Mansion is a pretty short game so I thought it’d be a good fit for after getting the platinum in Astro Bot.

lol go ahead and watch me the only thing you’ll ever see are memes about my depression and political takes
If you expressed “negative sentiment” toward insurance companies on social media following the murder of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO last month, the government was watching:

If any of us normies got 34 felonies we would never see the outside of a jail cell. Welcome to America where nobody is above the law unless you’re rich. This is oligarchy hell
Marrick Garland is partly responsible for Trump being president in less than a week for not being proactive in the Trump investigation for the past *four* years. Him releasing it now is a slap in the face because it’s too late. He’ll face no consequences and be in the White House. I feel numb

Welcome to Trump’s America where nobody gives a flying fuck about the spread of misinformation. Mark Zuckerberg is such an ass kisser it would be hilarious if it wasn’t also horrifying

This game won game of the year for a reason, and it's not because Black Myth Wukong or Elden Ring (which is a DLC so idk how it was nominated in the first place) were robbed. This game evokes such pure fun, and it's similar to 3D Mario games or the early Playstation games like Jak and Daxter and Sly
Game #1 on my 2025 backlog:
Astro Bot (2024/PS5)

It's technically not 2025 yet as of the time of this post and I started playing it a few days ago so sue me for not waiting for New Years. Anyways, I'm not finished with the game yet but just wanted to give my first impressions:

IT'S SO GOOD WTF

If you’re playing Marvel Rivals, please have at least one healer and tank. If nobody else wants to do it then you switch. Please I’m sick of joining matches with 5 DPS like no wonder you’re losing you keep rushing in with no heals or tank

When Luigi was charged with terrorism meanwhile school shooters aren’t, that tells you all you need to know about the validity of those charges

Very few things in this world can make me break down into tears quite like Robin Williams saying “It’s not your fault” over and over again. Good Will Hunting is one of my favorite movies ever and I’ve been thinking about it more and more lately because of my own mental health struggles. RIP Robin 😭

How many more children need to be gunned down before the government does anything about it? Especially when it’s in fucking school where they’re supposed to learn and be safe? No more thoughts and prayers. We need to fucking do something

Remember when Twitter used to be a place where people would debate about Captain America Civil War? The movie is gonna turn nine years old next year so I thought I’d revisit the debate:

Not to discredit either character because they’re both written well but let’s be honest: Steve was right

Are we done with this shit? There have been studies after studies after studies that show no evidence of video games making people more violent but the bullshit media needs a blame aside from maybe the healthcare industry screwing people over?
NBC News says UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter Luigi Mangione was a 'video game killer'

"[He] once belonged to a group of gamers who played as assassins"

The game in question — 'Among Us'

If the media believes that this shooting is what caused Americans to be furious and frustrated…WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR DECADES??? Why don’t you write a story about all the people who died from UHC’s denying of health coverage? Talk about the real issues and not that some rich asshole was killed
December 7, 2024 at 3:57 AM
Obviously not that I want a murderer on the streets to go free, but is it just a little suspicious how quickly the NYPD moved to try to find Brian Thompson’s killer when there are so many murders that are still unsolved? 🤔 Of course a stupidly wealthy CEO is a higher priority than a regular person 🤦🏼‍♂️

So I’ve seen some stuff come up with Moana 2 and it basically confirmed everything that I was worried about. None of the trailers impressed me visually or story wise and it just seemed rushed and completely unnecessary except to make Disney money on a significantly lower budget

Random thought but I find it interesting that the people who complain about gas prices the most, most likely also drive trucks that guzzle gas

I’m not even a boxing fan personally but I would just like to know why anyone thought this fight would be worth it as a main event. Mike is pushing 60 years old and Jake Paul has fought exactly one professional boxer and got destroyed. Jake Paul is a joke
Netflix is being sued for poor streaming quality during the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight 🥊

Just so we’re clear: the United States is not a theocracy. There is no official religion of the United States. Even if you’re a Christian, there is no basis of any kind for religion being mandatory. Shouldn’t Christianity be about a relationship with Jesus?
