It's fish tank cleaning day and the fish wanted some earlyish Pink Floyd, so Obscured by Clouds (1972). This one's a bit of a forgotten album but the fish & I love it & I can always hear echoes (see what I did there) of the famous album to come the very next year(Dark Side of the Moon) 🎵🎶🎵

On offer from USNI, Richard McKenna's only novel (he died far too young after writing it), 1920s China, an American gunboat on the Yangtze, quite superb, & filmed in 1966, Steve McQueen (acting masterclass), Dickie Attenborough, & the delectable Candice Bergen - watch the film as well!!

This is a lovely first edition I picked up cheaply, signed as well!!

I guess 'sunset' not only refers to the loss of HK to the Japanese but also what it symbolised in the East: the demise of the British Empire

It's enough to make a grown man cry....
