In a newsroom it's really simple: you call people by the name and labels they say. If someone spells their last name b-f-l-o-q and pronounces it 'Smith,' you pronounce it 'Smith.' From a grammar standpoint it was tough to get used to 'they.' But f*** it. It's on me to get with it.
