I created the art in Adobe illustrator then paid for someone to digitize the hands for my embroidery machine to read. I finally traced the letters on felt fabric, cut it out and sewed it to the pillow. #luxurysewing #sewing #machineembroidery #blackart

The top piece is the horsehair interfacing and the bottom is a cotton muslin. The cotton muslin is woven with individual threads while the interfacing, each thread is multiple fibers. So the interfacing is more sturdy. It's best for garments that you want a more rigid look.

It takes WAY more time, but I prefer hand sewing on horsehair canvas interfacing instead of fusible interfacing. The structure can be adjusted slightly with more or fewer stitches. #sewsky #sewing #handmade #luxurysewing #bespoke #africansewing
