Lake Travis is a big-assed lake, at 65 miles long and holding 1.1 million acre-feet of water. It takes a LOT of water to raise it by 15.28 feet in 24 hours. (the numbers are shown as feet above sea level. An acre-foot is one acre of land filled filled to a depth of one foot of water)

Sunday chill. My ginger "Buddy" loves to have the very top of his head and his chin rubbed more than anything else in the world - it almost makes his eyes roll to the back of his head. He begs for it and if I try to brush anywhere else, he maneuvers his head in the way.

July 1975 - Half a century ago our family went to Florida to watch the launch of the Apollo-Soyuz mission - the last Apollo mission made. You can see it wasn't a full-sized launch assembly, but a shortened version sitting on "the Milkstool". We also went to Disney World built just 4 years earlier.
