#ShowMeYourKnits Blue Week. The yarn was my souvenir from our September trip to Ireland. Townhouse Yarns Drury DK; Color: Oiche. The pattern is Slouchy Copy Cat Hat on Ravelry, mods by nireknit. A really easy, fun pattern that I knit at a bluegrass festival in Vermont.

A hat knit with blue yarn lays flat on a white background. The blue is intense with slight variations in tone so that there are some darker and some lighter points. The hat has a band of ribbing at the bottom and a faux cable pattern that looks complicated but was easy to make with a combination of increases and sso decreases. The blue faux-cable hat is being blocked over a head-sized balloon. You can see my (rather lovely) white quartz counter and white tile backsplash in the background. The hat is stretched slightly over the balloon, which rests on a Pyrex measuring cup. If you were wearing the hat this way, it would be pulled all the way over your head and face so that the band was around your neck. You should not wear it this way, but it does show off the stitch pattern very nicely!
