Agreed. Unfortunately though they are the least likely to make the jump. Both SD and LA would have to lose on decision day

These are the potential matchups for the Portland Timbers if the 7th-place playoff spot is ours. It all depends on the decision day this weekend. Who do you want to see PTFC take on in the postseason? Let me know down below!

MNUFC ⚫🔵🦆
Both matchups between the Timbers and the Loons this season have ended in 1-1 draws. The first matchup came July 19th, which saw goals from Anthony Markanich and Omir Fernandez. The August contest saw an own goal from Romero, and Lod tied it up for the Loons.

LAFC ⚫💛💎
The Timbers and LAFC played to a 3-3 draw at Providence Park in April, which saw PTFC's goals come from Mora and Moreno, and LAFC's from Giroud, Bouanga and Martinez.
The Timbers went to Socal in July and won thanks to a Cristhian Paredes goal in the 45th minute.

San Diego FC🔵🩶🟠
The two clubs have only met once this season, playing to a 0-0 draw in August. This match saw the Timbers debuts of Velde, Rojas, and Carballo. The two clubs meet again on decision day at Providence Park.

As of this moment, the three teams in contention for second place in the West include
San Diego FC- current second-place holders, 60 points
LAFC- 3rd place, 59 points
Minnesota United- 4th place, 58 points.

The Portland Timbers haven't lost to any of these teams yet this season.

Agreed on all aspects. I def think if he’s given the right help, or has little to no problem adjusting to the league, he would be a game changing hire fs.

Dykes has been the brains behind Brentford's recruitment the last several years. If he chooses to make the move to this side of the pond, I could see a world where he establishes something similar here in the states. very very interested in this potential move.
