2nd, "Playing with Fire": The Dark Comedy Wee John/Izzy Genderbend fic I never expected to write (& ended up loving to pieces).

As it's a rare pair, it flew under people's radar, but I genuinely think it's one of my best works.

October brought two collaborations with the wonderful @nadsdraws.bsky.social.

Both are Modern AU EdIzzy stories, "Moments of Truth" about figure skating, "A Taste of Paradise" a Biker AU. Both deal with Emotional Hurt/Comfort, but the premise and resolution differ wildly. (8/10)

Demon Slayer AU, Violence, Blood & Gore, Angst, Hurt/Comfort. M-rated, 48.5k words.

"Turning Tides" by ewelinakl, lustig Summary: The death of Calico Jack has shaken the Demon Slayer Corps to its core. It has been a long time since one of the top six demons has been spotted, and even longer since the last time a Slayer ranking as high as Jack has fallen in battle. With part of the Corps going rogue to avenge Jack, the rest struggles to protect their vulnerable core against Prince Ricky's strongest demons. Because if the Republic of Pirate falls, everything will be lost. A cover art, three-parted with diagonal lines, showing a town at a beach. The upper part shows a closeup of a marionette's controller, with strings connected to people dressed in Navy uniforms, carrying swords. The center part shows the bird view on the town, with the bay and harbor. A ship on fire is sailing towards the natural border of the bay, two boulders coming out of the water. The lowest part shows only part of the beach and then a cliffside, on which a lighthouse stands. Purple tentacles are wrapping around the lighthouse and reaching towards the beach. Early June, I helped organize Hornigold Week and participated with a series of three 7-drabble stories, covering all 21 prompts.

I used the prompts to build a coherent, progressively worsening story about betrayal and manipulation.
