Honestly, I say it's half that and half that Metacritic is a horrible website in general. Averaging a dozen different metrics that happen to use the same scale, where a loving 3/5 is lower than a damning with faint praise 8/10. The only point is giving people a big number to hoot at.

I wouldn't call it dull. It's just a historical French werewolf movie that's kinda Bloodborne because they're hunting it with swords and flintlocks, but they also only wear the Bloodborne Jackets for the opening.
