The situation reminds me of the ClubQ shooter who claimed to be asexual in court. If this roommate did say those things I wouldn't be surprised that its just another Groyper claiming he is "transitioning" with no diagnosis, no prescriptions, no social transitions like a name changes, or clothes etc

Since they teach that your thoughts and feelings can condemn you true believers wind up conditioned not to look at things critically or empathically and will double down as an act of "faith". I used to run on pure emotional thinking and confirmation bias, and am damn lucky my shelf eventually broke.
