I'm really just arguing for empathy for those who say this guy got some form of justice. I agree he shouldn't have been murdered. I just feel more for the pain of those suffering from the systems people like him benefited from. I respect your position though. It's probably harder to take then mine.

There definitely is some. But I think people are tired of injustice. The was some bloodlust in the civil rights movement too, that didn't tar the entire movement. We need change, and it's grown more obvious as that fact continues to be ignored. At some point, steam will escape the kettle.

The CEO benefited from actions that deliberately increased harm for personal gain. Lack of empathy is unsurprising. Empathizing with the pain that led people to callousness seems fair. I condemn the murder, but understand people's sentiments. We have grown tired of people not facing consequences.

And we can sympathize with bad actors, even as we condemn the specifics of their actions. I think a lot of what we are seeing is more that, then actual desire for bloodshed.

Agreed, but when real justice is denied actions like this become more likely. I think the argument might be that eventually, 'justice', even improper, is better than perpetrators continuing to get away with harm. The lines between self-defense and revenge can be blurred in minds clouded with pain.

I'll ratchet it down. I agree I was a bit inflammatory. But I was explicitly referring to the hypothetical water truck scenario. I agree killing this CEO isn't going to be beneficial to anyone. I do think, though, that layers of complex bureaucracy shouldn't shield someone from just consequences.

I can respect that as a personal choice, even if I think it could be wrong. But I want to know your opinion when it isn't about you. Should a parent watch their children die next to the water being hoarded and denied to them because he is poor? Should we as a society?
