Yeah, it's definitely just a lot harder than most people realize because of the pressure it puts on commitment. Not to mention being able to bankroll visits. It really only works in this sweet spot of being flexible to move far away and being old enough to be looking for something long-term

It does but only for certain people and if there are concrete plans to make a full move in a timely manner. I got burned a couple times from this and the one that worked was someone who had the same issues so we shotgunned a move after like 3 months of dating and have been together 4 years now lmao

It helps when you realize that a bitter 0° day in January and a beautiful 80° day in July are both the same temperature difference away from that 40° day lol. You also notice the wind chill off the lake way worse at sub zero 🥶
