She will need to check in regularly to ensure she’s aligned with the direction of the school as well. Personal progression is important but (as we all know) we also have to toe the party line.

Again, at the risk of sounding silly, it’s the little things… Showing interest in what other teachers are doing… Engaging when in the staffroom, showing a willingness to be supportive when required.

I think having a good rapport with your fellow staff is obvious but also still severely under appreciated… If you’re not trusted & you’re the one dropping into classes, it’s a quick path to being resented and viewed as a threat.
