As a survivor of two kidnappings while serving in conflict-affected communities, I have experienced firsthand the dangers that come with delivering life-saving assistance. Yet, despite these risks, #humanitarian workers continue to show up, driven by compassion and commitment to those in need. #WHD

Without enforcement, the world risks repeating the same inequities and delays that defined #COVID-19. #Health

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻: Resilience isn’t just found in the communities we serve, it lives in each of us who show up every day, adapt to uncertainty, and push forward when the odds are stacked high. Our perseverance is what keeps systems moving when everything else seems to be falling apart.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge and deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of all colleagues, #humanitarian, and #development professionals who despite the toughest of circumstances never give up. Your courage, consistency, and compassion save lives and restore hope every single day.

But through it all, we carry on not because the work is easy, but because it matters. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the resilience it takes to lead and serve in some of the world’s most difficult setting

In this week’s Lessons from the Field, I reflect on the relentless challenges we encounter, and yet continue to show up. From navigating insecurity to delivering services in difficult to reach terrain, or designing interventions amid uncertainty, each moment has tested our resolve. #humanitarian

Facing these challenges has not only been about the love for humanity and our communities, but also about a shared belief that even in the most difficult contexts, dignity and access to #healthcare and other key social services should never be compromised.
