This is The Victorian, a bar located inside the historic Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas. But this space has lived many lives. At one time it was where President Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson would broadcast their radio show from (Johnson was a Senator at the time.)

Milford Cemetery, located in Milford, Connecticut is one of the oldest colonial cemeteries in the United States dating back to the mid 1600s. Looking around you see a wide array of types of gravestones, reflecting the many years of burials that have taken place here. #cemetery #connecticuthistory

On November 14th 1832, NYC's first form of public transit began in the form of horse drawn street cars. The service started on Forth Ave and Bowery in Manhattan, running between Prince and 14th street. Passengers paid 12.5 cents per ride.

Seaview was actually one of the largest tuberculosis hospitals in the country, built on top of a 25 acre plot of land that had previously housed the state of Charles Schmidt and gone by the name Ocean View.

The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28th, 1886. Lady Liberty is copper clad, and was a gift to the United States from the people of France. It was designed by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. She is a symbol of freedom, liberty and so much more.

These are the perhaps haunted Hyderdhal Ruins, located in the Staten Island woods in New York City. Dating back to the early 1800s, the ruins are named for the Hyderdhal family, who attempted to settle on this land and start a grape orchard.

Some say that sitting in her lap of the Bronze Lady in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery would invoke a curse, or even just touching her. Either way, the brass lady is a stunning sculpture. Forever morose and she looks upon the mausoleum of Samuel and Ann Thomas.

This is the The Rezeau-Van Pelt family Cemetery in Staten Island’s Historic District. It was first established in the 1780s. The very unique fence around the plot is a replica of the original, which was built in the mid 1800s. Along the fence you can see the hourglasses adorned with wings.

A lot of these stones are over 170 years old. Many of the wood stones have not survived. Many of the metal headstones were also stolen over the years and used for scrap metal. It was originally established in 1841 after the land was bought from the Meserole Farm.
