Disney Star Wars feels like it hates itself. So much of it feels like they are ashamed of the campy space opera nature of pre Disney star wars. It feel like they are trying so hard to be overly serious with a universe that has always been campy and over the top. It's ashamed, so it doesn't feel good

But all of that was mostly limited to what is now legends. I've tried reading the High Republic books, the same way I've gone back and read the Legacy of the Force novels. The comparison is that one is filled with the over the top family drama and exaggerated emotions of a space opera. One is Disney

Hell, it even lost the over the top nature of the Prequels. I grew up with Star Wars. The first movie I ever watched was The Phantom Menace on vhs. And ever since I've watched all the movies, tv shows, read the books, comics, played the games. It was literally my first special interest, I loved it.

All of this combined with it not being infested by rightwing ghouls or writers who really want to make the fascists seem cool and reasonable like Warhammer 40K. It's honestly pretty awesome, and I've already stated out two armies, lol

I especially like how it takes its satire seriously. It actually respects the source material, and that's kinda why it doesn't make me uncomfortable like a lot of similar satirical things.

I can interact with it as a christian and not feel terrible.
