Lunar Orbiter V frame 65 was a dramatic overview of the central Far Side, however it suffered from development defects. I manually removed most of the 'blobs' on the original film and I am in the process of 'filling in' the small bits of obscured detail using a similarly lit overlapping frame.

Happy book birthday to Me! Today sees the release of my latest, RADIANT SKY, published by CAEZIK SF & Fantasy. I loved going back to the Moon with clunky Apollo and Soyuz technologies while writing this one, and continuing the adventures of Vivian Carter and her astronaut (and cosmonaut) colleagues.

Tonight there will be a Blue Supermoon at 9:35 ET
The moon will appear about 8% larger than a normal full moon and 15% brighter than a normal full moon.
The next one won't be until January 2037. Keep any eye out tonight!
