Banning them would be a public service. There’s a reason why other countries don’t allow them. And yes, sure, ban the companies from social media as well. Having a strong-armed approach to corporate communications is not a bad thing whatsoever, and would more often than not protect the public.

I find it exceptionally silly for anyone to not condemn the US’s attempts to influence Chinese society, while at the same time jumping to conclusions with what China *might* or could *maybe* do with TikTok as a platform. I agree with the ban, but only because the platform is an absolute cesspool.

Yet China is seen as unreasonable for banning American owned and operated social media? I find banning any platform over which country it’s operated out of to be jingoistic at best.

I wonder if this could open up the possibility of cell carriers selling/financing Macs.

One of the great things about modern technology and easier access to media in general is the ability to easily introduce new generations to older media without having to rely on third parties. Whether it's a tv show, movie, video game or computer program.
