Ginny died today, two months shy of her 19th birthday. I knew it was coming, and spent the past few days spoiling her extra (even if I didn't want to believe it). this morning, I knew it was time, so I called the vet and made an appointment for tonight. (1/2)

as for if they all come in at once... you can suspend holds in Libby, which helps a TON. you still move up the queue but take them when you're ready once you're at the top.

it's been a bit since i posted pictures of the kittens, so! they are growing exponentially (morwen: 5lb13oz; esme: 4lb12oz), they're in the "lanky teenager" stage, and they're still HUGE cuddlebugs. they're also exploring more & getting into more trouble, and i love them even more 💜

two people from the Turtle Rescue League randomly came by my library with a two week old turtle they had just rescued nearby!!
(for those who have read "Of Time and Turtles" by Sy Montgomery, one of the people was Natasha, and it was so great to unexpectedly pick her brain a little!)

I've been listening to the fellowship of the ring on my commute. the new narration by Andy Serkis is WONDERFUL. I'm 74% of the way through with just under 6 hours left. it gets returned automatically halfway through my commute on Friday morning; I've got six 45 minute drives between now and then. 🤞

Esme's nightly routine is to smush herself against my neck/head as I'm watching TV, and I hope she continues to do this even when she's bigger and older.

my mom couldn't find Esme while I was at work today, so she put a cardboard box in the hallway to trap her 😅 (it didn't work because Esme was actually "stuck" but it made me laugh when I came home and saw it... after 15 panicked minutes of searching for her)

introducing... GINNY THE SECOND! lol, ginny was **actually** her name at the shelter. but her new name will be Esme, for Granny Esme(ralda) Weatherwax from Discworld!
She and Morwen were playing within ten minutes of meeting each other, so I think it's going to be a great match.

I think Buddy was trying to show Morwen that he's playful, but then he got his paw stuck so he really just showed that he has one braincell 😂
(Buddy wants to play with her soooo badly, but he's being so patient and gentle with her! she's still unsure of such a bigger cat)

I love her already. I was so worried about her not bonding with me (even though that's literally never not happened with any cat I've *ever* met lol) but this was us after an hour. I think I can stop worrying lol

I just got a chance to look at her adoption paperwork in detail, and discovered that her estimated date of birth is Avocado's adoption anniversary!!!! I'm speechless about that realization.
anyway, after a few hours of settling in, she is NOT shy anymore and is such a love bug!
