That's what I've been thinking for a while too! I wonder if people who ignore the fact that Stolas was abused will finally gain common sense if he and Stella parallel with Tilla and Cash at some point. Like if Blitz compares them when talking to Via or smth

They do the same thing with Stolas in the HB pilot, saying that he was originally going to be a fleshed out villain. Meanwhile in interviews they've implied that he was originally going to be a one-note villain. So they changed him to the love interest so he'd have more depth

I don't know if they'd be able to properly present this theme in their relationship as well if it weren't for them originally meeting in this context. You know, prior to their backgrounds(or trauma) clouding a lot of who they are.

But yeah, this angle to take their origins makes a lot of sense since stolas and Blitz's relationship in general is imo meant to represent the class conflict in the hellaverse, regarding the hellborn.

They're also arguably referencing this story by making stolas lose his prince status, since in the story the two boys trade places and end up learning about eachother's perspectives. (Who knows, maybe even Blitz will learn what it's like to be a royal if he ever gains higher status in s4 or smth)

Stolas and Blitz were too young to completely internalize their class differences, and therefore formed a bond that would otherwise be impossible. Which then made them continue to subconsciously see eachother as the exception to their class hierarchy even after they grew up.

I also see it as a reference to the Prince and the Pauper story, which is abt two young boys from different classes who became friends due to being similar, both feeling trapped by their living situations. I think HB is playing on a similar idea with stolitz, in that -
