Overwhelmed by life. Drowning my sorrows by making new ornaments for my Etsy store. Added 13 new extra-fancy 2.5-inchers the other day and now I’m doing some minis.

New finish. Hard to see, but those heart beads are actually rainbow-striped!
Translucent, iridescent blue ornament, about 2.5 inches in diameter, elaborately decorated with shimmering iridescent white and oil-slick gray seed, faceted, and dagger beads. Each of the nine “ribs” of the pattern features a small, rainbow-striped heart-shaped beads.

It’s been a strange and unexpectedly emotional day. I managed to regain some equilibrium with a sensible dinner and finishing an ornament.
Iridescent white glass bulb ornament, hanging from a free-standing silver wire support. The ornament has blue and red seed bead decorations punctuated by blue glass pearls, pale gold crystals, and large faceted blue hexagonal beads. The lower portion of the decoration has trailing fringe like leafy vines.

History is frequently very funny.
Start of Wikipedia article on 19thC member of pariament John Bell, declared of unsound mind but there was no way to remove him from Parliament. Continued Wikipedia article on MP John Bell, who declared himself a bird. He said he could fly better than most birds because he kept his shoulders oiled. He died in 1851 but a law to allow MPs to be removed from office for mental instability wasn’t passed until 1886.
